Torturepedia
Hosted by Neocities
A site I've made to document my favourite torture scenes from TV shows and movies. If you're here I assume you're also interested in this, unless you're one of my beta-testing friends (thanks guys!). If you're not and you want to know more, feel free to visit my FAQ, and if you're not and don't want to know more, feel free to close the tab -- I'm not holding you here.
As of now the FAQ hosts mainly basics, because I have not been frequently asked questions about a website I only just published, so if you'd like a question added, you can E-Mail to january@humanoid.net, or send me an ask on Tumblr @torturegirlsummer.
The site is sorted into Movies and TV Shows. Pages for these categories have alphabetised lists of the shows I've tabled, The name of the show is a link, which takes you to the shows page, which has drop-down tables for each character that list the episode name of the scene, the torture category it falls into, and a short description.
The "Types" page is the list of torture categories. Each category has its own page, which has a list of the shows/movies that feature scenes with this type, and the name of the character it happens to next to it. Spoilers abound on this site -- please be cautious!
Sensitivity warning for, like, everything. Know what's best for you.
Writing
(External Links)
- Wikiapedia's Methods of Torture List
- Mayo Clinic's List of Symptoms
- Wound Classification
Allows you to select your symptoms and lists diseases that could be causing them. Good for writing where you want specific experiences but don't know what illness to blame.
The scale, while being debated in this article, is good for writers looking at what level of injury would cause the desired symptoms.
